Shimano, Inc., a fishing tackle and bicycle parts supplier, announced on November 10 that it executes a free replacement of about 18,000 brake cables of the bicycle.
It is because the die-casting of the brake cable for the repair of the bicycle is damaged easily.
Shimano was working on the cause investigation after the bicycle retail store in the United States had sent this company one complaint of cutting the die-casting, or metal fittings, installed in the point of the cable.
The company has not received the complaint in Japan.
The company described to have already reported on the defect to the CPSC, or U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
