Design flaw surfaces on Roppongi Hills revolving door fatality

The consumer groups has pointed out the possibility of the product liability

By JCPRESS

Sources to the case began to point out that there was incompleteness in the sensor of the automatic revolving door that a 6-year-old boy got his head caught in.

The boy died received injuries to his head and cheeks.

The consumer groups accused companies, "The possibility of the design flaw has become strong" reacting on this.

There is a difference in the view with Sanwa Tajima Corp., the door's manufacturer, and Mori Building Co., the operator of the business building, about the number of accident. The criticisms are mounting, "The companies might not examine accident information closely, and neglect accurate investigation" though accidents occurred before the boy death.

JCPRESS schedules to publish details in the issue on the Japan consumer newspaper, in Japanese, April 1.
