Consumer groups require U.S. to subject all cattle to mad cow disease tests
"If U.S. urge Japan to reopen its market for its beef, the U.S. should do such tests"

After the United States announced its first BSE (bovine spongiform encephaalopathy) problem in December, The Japanese Government prohibited the beef import from the U.S..The consumers of Japan favours the action of the Japanese Government.

The all cattle to mad cow disease tests is carried out in Japan-domestic for all cows. Therefore, the consumer groups is insisted on, "The anxiety neurosis rises if the all cattle to mad cow disease tests is not executed even in case of the imported beef".

Big consumer groups in Tokyo, including National Liaison Committee of Consumers' Organizations and Consumer Union of Japan, announces the statement from January to February this year .

They appealed to have to do all import cow's all cattle to mad cow disease tests in the statement regardless of cow's age. They are insisting, "If U.S. Government will urge Japan to reopen its market for U.S. beef, the U.S. should meet the condition of the all cattle to mad cow disease tests".

Some consumer groupses showed the welcomed intention of going out of movement to do the all cattle to mad cow disease tests independently in the United States recently.

However, other consumer groupses are on the watch for such movement, saying that "If the system of the inspection of the United States is not affirmed by the site survey, it is not possible to be relieved about the imported beef".
