About 150 aggrieved parties of the Kanemi Yusho PCB pollution stated on April 6 that the human rights redress to Japan Federation of Bar Associations for the reasons with "It had been left in serious damage for a long time while being afflicted. The cesser was a serious violation of human rights" .
The Kanemi Yusho PCB pollution occurred in 1968 in West Japan. There are people who have been receiving a healthy damage exceeding the generation in the aggrieved party.
The pollution cause was a rice bran oil plant of the Kanemi warehouse company (Kitakyushu City). Chloridization biphenyl (PCB) made of the Kaneka Co. (Osaka city) used as a heating medium by the manufacturing process of the edible oil leaked from the hole of the corroded pipe in the factory, and it mixed with oil.
People who took this oil received damage by the acute toxicity. Patients appealed for the skin irritation and the visceral organ trouble one after another. However, the causality between the trouble appearance of disease and the edible oil was not clarified enough at that time.
Lawsuits that appealed for Kanemi, Kaneka, and the country by the patient were concluded by the concord and the withdrawal by 87 years. It was clarified that the dioxin generated by the heat processing of PCB by the subsequent research was a cause.
