Japan Consumers Association announced a result of questionnaire concerning water executed for 600 people. It has been understood that there are 59.8% person who is using "Only tap water" for the drinking water and cooking as a result.
Many of people of 40 percent who had answered, "Water other than tap water were used" were using the water of filtered one by softeners or purifiers and the marketed PET bottle.
There were a lot of reasons such as "Tap water was unpalatable", "Uneasiness in safety", and "It is stinky".
