National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan (NCAC, web) tested 11 health food brands to which the diet effect including dietary supplement "Merirort" of the herb was expressed in products.
As a result, there was three brand health food for the amount of a day of the content active ingredient of the intake standard to exceed the dosage of a day of the medicine from 2 to about 5 times.
The center asked the consumer for attention , saying that "A high physiology action might go out compared with the medicine".
Manufacturing is being discontinued as for two brands of three brands now.
However, one brand is still manufactured.
It is a product "Merirort" made of DHC. The Merirort contains active ingredient
Coumarin.
Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare had announced the case with the possibility of causing the impaired liver function last year.
