Fair Trade Commission warned nine companies by displaying lie

Popular "Salt in Hakata" and "Natural sea salt in Okinawa" in a traditional manufacturing method of Japan were imitations that mixed the salt from Australia and from Mexico.

Nine companies that emphatically displayed and sold the special product place of domestic salts had not described the fact by the display though it used the salt of foreign as a raw material.

Fair Trade Commission (web) in Japan did the administrative penalty of warning that commanded the correction of the display of the lie to nine domestic salt manufacturing companies on July 21.

This warning gave the high impact to the consumer in Japan that had especially loved salt made by an old manufacturing method.

As for not only domestic goods but also imports from foreign countries, the prosecution to an exaggerated display of the commodity, so-called the display of the lie, is active in Japan starting with the revision of the Act Against Unjustifiable Premiums and Misleading Representations (web).
