User in bed made by Paramount Bed that is the nursing bed leading company in Japan dies


Bereaved family sues the company for product liability because of "Structural defect"

Paramount Bed (TSE:7960), the nursing bed leading company in Japan, Koto Ward, Tokyo, was appealed by PL lawsuit by bereaved family on June 30.

The PL lawsuit is disputed over in the Kyoto district court.

An aged woman who had used the nursing bed of this company died by the respiratory failure. The bereaved family brought a case Paramount Bed for compensation for damages of about 88 million yen for the reasons why there was a structural defect in the bed.

The lawsuit that contends over the defect of the bed for nursing is the first time though there are about 60 PL lawsuits in Japan.

Because the market share of this company of the bed for the medical treatment and for nursing is large, the influence on medical facilities and nursing facilities of the whole country is also large.
