Ministry of the Environment announced on July 27 that the environmental hormone action had been confirmed to chemical "Bisphenol A" used for tableware and lunch box made of plastic.
In the experiment that used the medaka, the phenomenon of making to the female was confirmed by about 20 percent among the medakas bred in the density which 4,000 times or more detected from the river.
The ministry assumes, "The fear of influence on health to the person might be a little. But it wants to expect a related industry the self-imposed control of using and manufacturing of tableware made of plastic".
The chemical substance from which the environmental hormone action is confirmed to the fish becomes the third material by the examination of this ministry after nonylphenol and octylphenol.
