Hitachi Ltd. announced on August 24 that it had detected a defect from AC adaptor attached to 20V type LCD TV monitor and 20V type LCD TV for personal computer, and requested the discontinuance of use to the consumer.
Consumers sent complaint that the leak breaker were off while using the television to Hitachi. When the company tried to find the cause reacting on the complaint, it turned out the defect, Hitachi said.
Hitachi announced to the users that it will exchange adaptors free of charge on the same day by the newspaper ad.
The replaced numbers are about 15,000.
The monitor doesn't work when continuously using it or it is likely to get an electric shock unusually.
In turning out the defect of the adaptor, as many as two years have passed since this company marketed it.
