By JCPRESS

To convert to the reusable cup, international environment NGO"FoE Japan" submitted the request to American coffee shop chain biggest "Starbucks coffee Japan".

Because making the disposable container the coffee drunk in the store and offering it to the consumer may negatively affect the environment.

Starbucks is multiusing a disposable cup though other coffee shop chains are using the reusable cup such as mugs and the glasses when drinking in the store, FoE pointed out.

Moreover, the company puts cool beverages in a plastic disposable container, and is applying the cap made of plastic to the cup container.

FoE Director of the Public Relations Ryouko Seguchi said that "Even if the use time of a disposable cup in the inside of a store is long, it takes only tens of minutes. Afterwards, the cup is abandoned without being recycled".

The Starbucks coffee Japan Public Relations Department spoke to JC-Press, "It is impossible to convert all containers to the recycling container right now. But we want to raise the recycling rate of the coffee cup".
