Mycotoxin that exceeds domestic standard from apple juice from South Africa


Health Ministry orders inspection

Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announced the execution of the inspection instruction on September 7 because mycotoxin "Patulin" that exceeded the standard from the apple juice from South Africa had been detected.

Patulin causes the hyperemia, the hemorrhage, and the ulcus of the digestive organ.

Eentrepreneur cannot sell it domestically without the proof of safety by the inspection when it imports the apple juice and the apple fruit juice for the raw material from South Africa in the future.

The ministry said that the apple juice from South Africa would be imported 362 tons between January this year and September 5.
