Objection, saying that "BSE report of government disregarded consumer opinion"


Consumer group demanded withdrawal of Report from Food Safety Commission

"Food Safety Citizens' Watch" sent the request book that insisted on "Withdrawal of the report" to the Food Safety Commission of Cabinet Office on September 8.

The request is content that dissents to the report of a Prion special investigation committee that suggests that the blanket test on all slaughtered cattle for mad cow disease in Japan will be reviewed because it is difficult to discover the BSE infection in the young cow below the age for 20 months.

The citizen committee is criticizing , saying that "It is necessary to give priority only to cow's from the United States risk evaluation. The government submitted an unscientific report however without doing it".
