Hazard of ignition, electric shock in AC adapters used with Dell notebook personal computers

Defect of recall system of Japan was exposed again

By JCPRESS

Dell Inc. in Japan announced on October 14 that it recalls of AC Adapters for Notebook Computers

U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, CPSC, announced the recall based on information that there was fear of heating, the ignition, and the electric shock in the AC adaptor that was manufactured in Taiwan, and used in each country on October 8.

Dell in Japan was announcing the voluntary recall on the homepage on October 9.

There is a difference in the voluntary recall system in each country about recalling the same product used internationally.

Especially, the response of Japanese Government that gives priority to the profit of the industrial world more than consumer's profit is greatly late in the method of notifying the recall to the consumer compared with that of the United States.

For instance, Japan doesn't have an enough accident prevention surveillance system as the accident report had not reached the government and the consumer though a similar injury accident had occurred before generating the boy fatal accident by the revolving door of Roppongi Hilz.
