Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare ordered the inspection to all importers on October 13 because it had detected the pesticide residue that exceeded the standard of Food Sanitation Law from the field pea of immaturity from China.
Importers are obligated the inspection of the field pea, and if safety is not proven, cannot ship them.
The ministry detected residual pesticide "Chlorpyrifos" that exceeded the standard by 2-3 times on September 17 and October 12.
All of the field pea that became a violation are kept, and not shipped to a domestic market.
