Civic groups and environmental groups started up citizens conference "Do not burn the waste plastic" to appeal to the country not to make processing of the incineration of the waste plastic a bill easily on January 22.
It is movement opposed the declaration of the idea heat-treating used plastic (waste plastic) that cannot do using again, recycling, and making to the resource by "What should be of the processing of the municipal waste by cities, towns, and villages for the formation of the recycling society" that the Ministry of the Environment submitted to Central Environmental Council last October.
Heat-treatment is just incineration of plastic.
However, plastic that is buried or incinerated pollutes the atmosphere, water, and the soil by exhausting a harmful chemical.
The incineration processing "Heat-treatment" is a method quite different from the true recycling society for which the citizens hope.
The citizens conference is proposing that only the mechanism of the society that returns plastic to the place that can be used again is a recycling society and the best processing method after it is safely processed by the responsibility of the enterprise whose all waste plastics are producers.
And, the conference emphasizes, "The government submits the bill the same as the original bill of the Ministry of the Environment to the next Diet if consumers do not raise an opposite voice now".
