"Joint conference on the label of food" having been set up by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry improved the method of setting "Best-before date" and "Use-by date" operated by processing food entrepreneur's voluntary standards on February 3, and decided the introduction of a united guideline.
"Joint conference" set "Safe factor" to secure safety by using an objective standard corresponding to the characteristic of each food.
The manufacturer roughly describes the Use-by date about the foods such as the box lunches and daily dishes to which the quality is deteriorated including the day of manufacturing and the processing within five days.
So to speak, it is a time limit safely eaten.
On the other hand, the manufacturer describes the best-before date about the foods such as comparatively gradual canned foods and cup noodles to be deteriorated in the quality. It is a time limit eaten delicious in a word.
However, the setting of each time limit has been entrusted to independent discretion of the manufacturer.
