Smoking and the ignition accident of "Washing dryer" that integrates the washing machine with the dryer are successive.
SANYO Electric (headquarters and Osaka Prefecture Moriguchi City) announced that they checked and repaired about 164,000 washing dryers free of charge on September 6.
Because the product with the possibility of causing smoking and the ignition accident is included in four models such as popular series product "Top Open Drum".
The trouble goods that other parts suppliers had manufactured mixed with the wiring connection terminal (connector) in the heating circuit.
The company said to JC-Press, "Our company received three accident information between the end of July and the beginning of August. The accident reports were smokings, and the deformation of the cap of the washing dryer by heat. At present, neither the accident resulting in injury or death nor the fire accident occurred".
The company spoke to JC-Press further, "Our company keenly feels the responsibility of choosing such parts". It makes an excuse , saying that "Defects of not the product but parts".
